Silicone Foam Dressing

JCMED’s silicone foam dressing comprises a soft silicone contact layer, a flexible polyurethane foam pad, and a vapor-permeable, moisture-proof outer film. The silicone adhesive adheres to surrounding skin without sticking to the wound bed, minimizing pain and reducing the risk of wound damage.

The silicone adhesive foam dressing forms and maintains an optimal moist wound environment to support healing. For exuding wounds, the foam absorbs and distributes exudate, preventing reabsorption into the wound while the silicone layer acts as a barrier against leakage. This moist setting stimulates cell proliferation, preserves cell viability, and enhances fibroblast growth in wound exudate. silicone foam dressing also increases the levels of epidermal growth factor and platelet-derived growth factor compared to dry environments, with exudates themselves promoting the growth of fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and endothelial cells in vitro. By avoiding dry scab formation, the moist environment accelerates epidermal cell migration across the wound bed, enabling faster healing and reducing secondary damage during dressing changes.

Features and Cautions of Silicone Foam Dressing

Features

  • Gentle on the skin and does not cause allergies and painless to remove, with no residue.

  • "Vertically" absorbs exudate from the wound mucosa, lowering the possibility of maceration surrounding the wound.

  • High Absorption, this dressing adheres to the fundamental principles of "moist healing" by maintaining the lesion at the appropriate temperature and humidity.

  • Reusable after wound examination, it won't adhere to the wound bed.

  • When eliminated, it doesn't harm the newly formed epithelial cells.

  • Helps to reduce scarring.

  • Both permeable and waterproof. You can take a shower while wearing this dressing.

  • It functions as a "cushion" and is soft and pleasant with good compression.

Cautions

  • Coverage should be least 2 cm beyond the edge of the wound.

  • Avoid using oxidizing solutions like hydrogen peroxide solution (H2O₂) or hypochlorite solution.

  • If the patient has a silicone allergy, stop using it.

Steps for Using a Silicone Foam Dressing

1.Clean the wound with saline

2.Dry skin around the wound，select the appropriate specification

3.Cover the wound completely(crop the product if necessary)

4.Tear the face mask,Stick to the wound

5.Use the second dressing to fix(inland)

Indication of Silicone Foam Dressing

  • Wounds with varying levels of drainage

  • Pressure ulcers

  • Leg ulcers

  • Diabetic ulcers

  • Venous stasis ulcers

  • Infected wounds

  • Painful wounds

  • Post operative surgical

  • Wounds with red granulation tissue or soft necrotic tissue

  • Hypergranulation tissue

  • Shallow, draining wounds

  • Deep cavity wounds

  • Fragile intact skin

  • Cavity wounds (as a secondary dressing)

  • Lacerations and abrasions

  • Superficial and partial thickness burns
