1. Preparation
Ensure the Eutocia Pack is sterile, unopened, and within expiry date.
Wash hands thoroughly with antiseptic soap and wear sterile gloves.
Prepare a clean, sanitized workspace for delivery assistance.
2. Opening the Pack
Carefully open the sterile packaging, avoiding contamination of internal components.
Lay out all items: sterile drapes, umbilical cord clamp, scissors, gauze, antiseptic solution, and suction bulb.
3. Assisting Delivery
Place the sterile underpad/drape beneath the mother to maintain hygiene.
After the baby’s head emerges, support the head and shoulders gently to prevent tearing.
Use the suction bulb to clear the baby’s nose and mouth if needed.
4. Handling the Umbilical Cord
Wait for cord pulsations to stop (1-3 minutes post-birth).
Apply the umbilical cord clamp 2-3 cm from the baby’s abdomen.
Use sterile scissors to cut the cord above the clamp.
5. Post-Delivery Care
Dry the baby with clean gauze/blanket and stimulate breathing if necessary.
Administer antiseptic solution to the umbilical stump to prevent infection.
Keep the newborn warm and monitored while assisting the mother with placental delivery.
6. Disposal & Cleanup
Discard used materials in a biohazard waste container.
