Canine Influenza Virus Antigen (CIV Ag) Rapid Test Kit

Canine influenza is caused by canine influenza virus (CIV), which can spread rapidly among dogs. It can cause coughing, runny nose, sneezing, fever, difficulty breathing, and other clinical respiratory symptoms that may be secondary to pneumonia.

The Canine Influenza Virus Antigen Detection Kit is a rapid test tool for in vitro qualitative screening of canine influenza virus (CIV) antigens in canine nasal secretions. The kit does not require any additional equipment, is easy to operate, and is suitable for self-testing at home or in clinics. It can quickly produce results within 10 minutes, helping users to know whether their dogs are infected with canine influenza virus in a timely manner.

The kit uses sandwich lateral flow immunochromatography, and the detection window contains a test area (T area) and a control area (C area). When the treated sample is dripped into the sample well, the liquid will flow horizontally and react with the pre-coated monoclonal antibody. If the sample contains CIV antigen, a visible test line will appear in the T area; at the same time, the appearance of the C area indicates that the test result is valid. This method can accurately and intuitively determine whether the canine influenza virus antigen is present in the sample.

The kit has the characteristics of high accuracy, high specificity and rapid detection. It is not only suitable for nasal secretions, but also can be used for the detection of eye and anal secretions, providing a reliable tool for early screening and prevention and control of canine influenza. With its convenience and efficiency, this kit has become an ideal choice for pet owners and veterinarians.

Test steps

  • Sampling: Use a sterile cotton swab to collect samples of canine nasal, eye or anal secretions to avoid contamination.

  • Specimen processing: Place the cotton swab in a diluent test tube, stir thoroughly and let it stand for 1 minute to allow the sample to dissolve evenly.

  • Specimen dripping: Take the treated liquid and vertically drip 3-4 drops into the sample well of the test card.

  • Wait for reaction: Lay the test card flat and let it stand for 10 minutes, waiting for the liquid to flow and complete the reaction.

  • Read the result: Observe the test window. The appearance of the C line indicates validity, and the color of the T line indicates positive.

Result determination:

  • Positive (+): Whether the T line is clear or not, the "C" line and the regional "T" line can be seen.

  • Negative (-): Only a clear C line is displayed, no T line.

  • Invalid: There is no colored line in the C area. Regardless of whether the T line appears.
